Study of Viral Metagenome from Wastewater Effluents.
Wastewater environment hosts a complex ecosystem of microorganisms, containing bacteria and viruses. Though next-generation sequencing technologies have greatly augmented the study of wastewater dwelling bacteria, yet the viruses that are predacious towards these bacteria, also known as bacteriophages, are largely under-investigated. This study explores the viral metagenome prevalent in wastewater effluent sampled from Doha West Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in the State of Qatar.
