Comparative metagenomic analysis of crude oil contaminated soil samples
Crude oil is a difficult environment to thrive, due to high toxicity and hydrophobicity, still microbial communities in oil-polluted desert soils were able to persist in such conditions. In order to find microbes that could be utilized for bioremediation or biotransformation objectives, diversity analyses from soil samples randomly collected from four oil sludge pits of a heavy oil field in Sultanate of Oman were conducted.
