High Prevalence of Homozygous BRCA1/2 Mutations Reveals Aggressive Prostate Cancer in UAE and Arab Patients
Prostate cancer (PCa) is a leading malignancy among men globally and is increasingly prevalent in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where it ranks as the second most common cancer in males. While BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes are well-established contributors to breast and ovarian cancer, their role in PCa, particularly within Arab populations, remains poorly understood. This study aims to characterize the mutational landscape of BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes in PCa among UAE and Arab patients, with a specific focus on the prevalence and clinical significance of homozygous mutations in high-grade tumors.
