16S rRNA sequencing of enriched microbial communities from crude oil-contaminated soil
This project presents a 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing analysis of enriched microbial communities derived from crude oil-contaminated soil collected in the Burgan oil field, Kuwait. Indigenous microorganisms were cultivated through enrichment culture to assess their hydrocarbon-degrading capabilities. Soil-derived microbial consortia were sampled at different time points (0W, 1W, 3W, and 5W) during crude oil degradation experiments. The resulting data allow for characterization of microbial community succession and prediction of functional pathways involved in hydrocarbon degradation and biosurfactant production.
The accession and its GCC connection are verified. Registration alone does not establish that the broader research programme remains active.
