Surveillance of mcr1 Positive E coli in Wastewater Assessing Colistin Resistance in the Sewage System in Qatar

QatarPathogen genomics and infectious diseaseRepository record

Colistin resistant bacteria pose a serious public health risk, yet their presence in Qatar environment remains largely unknown. This study investigates mcr positive bacteria in wastewater, identifying sewage as a potential reservoir for antimicrobial resistance. The findings will enhance AMR surveillance efforts and support policies to limit the spread of resistant bacteria.

Repository interpretation

The accession and its GCC connection are verified. Registration alone does not establish that the broader research programme remains active.
