Klebsiella pneumoniae strain:Kpn_R01 | isolate:Kpn_R01 Genome sequencing
The goal of this study is to investigate the genomic features of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Klebsiella pneumoniae strains isolated from clinical settings in Saudi Arabia. By sequencing and assembling the whole genomes of these strains, we aim to identify key genetic markers associated with antimicrobial resistance, including resistance to carbapenems and extended-spectrum beta-lactams. This research is highly relevant as K. pneumoniae is a major pathogen in healthcare-associated infections, and understanding its genetic profile will aid in tracking the spread of resistance and inform local and global strategies for controlling infections caused by these resistant strains.
