Epidemiological Study to Identify the Most Common Acinetobacter Strains in Saudi Arabia and Assess Their Antibiotic Resistance and Virulence Profile
This study aims to identify the most prevalent Acinetobacter strains circulating in healthcare settings across Saudi Arabia. A total of 798 isolates were collected and analyzed for antibiotic resistance and virulence profiles using phenotypic assays and genomic methods. The results highlight the dominance of multidrug-resistant strains and reveal key virulence factors contributing to pathogenicity. This work provides crucial insight into local Acinetobacter epidemiology and supports the development of targeted infection control strategies.
