Substrate Type Shapes Microbial Community Structure in Omani Avicennia marina Mangroves

This project investigates bacterial community composition and diversity across Avicennia marina mangrove ecosystems in Oman. Samples were collected from four mangrove sites, including Bandar Al-Khairan, Al-Qurum 1, Al-Qurum 2, and the planted Al-Sawadi lagoon. Three substrate types were analyzed: water, sediment, and rhizosphere. Sampling was conducted over three consecutive months: April, May, and June. Bacterial communities were characterized using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing to evaluate the effects of substrate type, site, and short-term temporal variation on microbial community structure.
